To support the Blue Economy, you have to know where you fit in it. Understanding how you as a resident, visitor, business owner or worker fit into the big blue picture is the best way to understand the value of building the Blue Economy as a recognizable, regional identity. So how do you fit in?
Why Support Us?
By supporting the Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation, you're supporting education, local business, a healthy environment, and vibrant communities across the region.
How Blue are You?
Dark Blue
Dark blue businesses and organizations are dependent on their proximity to water. Ask yourself, could you do what you do without the water? Examples of Dark Blue industries are fishing, deep ocean research, and offshore wind.
Medium Blue
Is your business stronger because of proximity to, but not reliant on, bodies of water? Then maybe you're in the Medium Blue category. Examples of medium blue businesses are luxury hotels and seafood restaurants.
Light Blue
Is your business near bodies of water but not reliant on or stronger because of proximity to bodies of water? Maybe you're a Light Blue business. Examples of Light Blue businesses are ice cream shops, performing art centers, and business-support services like banks.

Who We Support
Students
We work with educators to bring Blue Ideas to bright young minds of all ages. From early childhood education to continue adult education, Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation encourages discovery and creativity.
Businesses
The majority of Cape based businesses are small with 10 or fewer employees. Alongside the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, we work with small businesses to facilitate growth, solve problems, and share resources through programs like our Entrepreneurs Forever Peer Group or our Commercial Driver's License Training Program.
Visitors
Providing visitors with the knowledge and tools they need to feel part of our Blue Economy, while keeping our wildlife safe, is at the core of Expedition Blue. A series of award-winning structures positioned across Cape Cod, the Expedition Blue Waypoints teach us all about the history and ecosystems of key locations in our Blue Economy.
