Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation and Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Announce Dates and Location of Third Annual Big Blue Conference
Centerville – The Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation, Inc and Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce will host the third annual Big Blue Conference at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich on Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30.
Big Blue is the Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation's annual water-economy focused conference curated to spark conversations and inspire actions relevant to the vitality of Cape Cod’s business economy and natural ecosystems. The Blue Economy Foundation defines the Blue Economy as a sustainable and balanced way to grow our economy that focuses on protecting and promoting our water and coastal resources.
At Big Blue 2025 leaders in the field of education, curriculum development, and workforce training will share how the Blue Economy fits in their visions of the future for learners of all ages. The conference will also explore climate impacts on working waterfronts, advancements in aquaculture, and how innovation leads to conservation.
“We like to hold Big Blue in a venue that reflects the major focus of the conference,” said Katy Acheson, Executive Director of Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation. “Since we’re focusing on how blue economy is starting to come up more and more in education, asking a school to host made the most sense,” shared Acheson. Cape Cod Technical Regional High School is newly rebuilt, easily located off Route 6, and has hosted similar professional events in recent years.
Included this year, the Big Blue Expo will host more exhibitors than past Big Blue events and be open throughout the duration of the conference. Exhibitors will include local, state, and federal non-profit organizations and businesses from education, climate, conservation, preservation, innovation, technology, art, activism, marine, transportation, and related blue economy industries. Organizations interested in exhibiting should reach out to Katy Acheson at katy@capecodchamber.org for details.
Two-day tickets for $85 each and single-day tickets for $45 each are available at https://bluecapecod.org/events/big-blue-conference. Tickets include lunch on day one, breakfast and afternoon snacks on day two, in addition to refreshments available throughout the duration of the conference.
Past presenters and attendees have included community leaders, industry professionals, global experts, and advocates as well as Cape Cod marine business owners and employees. All are welcome. Free tickets are available for college and high school students thanks to the generosity of sponsoring businesses.
Topics, speakers, agendas, sponsors, and more will be added to https://bluecapecod.org/events/big-blue-conference from now through the event date.
